WOYWW-191

http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

Good morning all, well the addiction has taken over again! Slightly different angle today, but no better a photograph. On my desk deliveries, 2 Splodgeaway masks and a set of summer Distress Inks that arrived yesterday and I moved from my chair to the desk.  Lying around is a pair of scissors, pencil, Versafine inkpad, that purple/yellow thing near the scissor points is masking tape and post its and any other sticky bits, I pile them there in a sticky pile until I am ready to throw them in the bin. Under my desk are a box of acetate, templates, masks, a heating tool, a travel iron, 2 Smartprice hair sprays, kitchen roll and my Grand Calibur just peeping out from under it. I have also posted a picture of the cards I made the other week when it looked like I had a card avalanche, when i was in UIU mode. Well don't just look at my mess- er creative space, get yourself over to the cause of it all Julia Dunnit at Stamping Ground, but be warned it is addictive.

Not my work- wish it was!

Good morning all- just! Overcast and damp today.  I have n't got any cards photographed at the moment, might get round to it later on, but I thought I would show you this bag that my daughter made for someone. These canvas bags are all the rage apparently. The lady has two dogs and Caroline has painted them from photographs she has seen, I like how she has used buttons for the dogs noses and eyes. The bones and dog tags that are on the handles were made from that clay you bake in the oven. Eyelashes are drawn on but she also sticks some false eyelashes on too. This was a present for a lady's 50th and she was thrilled to bits with it. Well I suppose I better go and do the drawer sorting that I have been putting off, my kitchen draw went wonky and my friend's husband has just fixed it, and so I better sort that great pile of utensils before I put them back. Keep warm and dry.

Grandson

Good afternoon all. it is a dark damp day here today, but at least all the snow has gone. I am feeling quite tired now so I think after this post I will go for a little winter siesta! I thought I was never going to finish this card I had so many interruptions, but here it is. I used a Papermania Kraft card, then Diecuts with a view paper for the background and bunting, LOTV stamp on a blank Kanban topper coloured with Pro-markers, sentiment LOTV, embellishments from stash, bunting stamp-Anna Griffiths, Card Candy. Well that's it I'm off, keep warm and dry.

UIU-3

Good afternoon everyone. A bright and windy one today, most of our snow has gone thanks to the heavy rain we had during the night, and it is warmer. Well today's card, can you tell I was in the flower drawer for my UIUs? They are nearly all roses from 2 sets of stamps, anyway I digress. Background Pan Pastels, and the rose stamp under the Kanban plain topper. Stamp and sentiment-Kanban, butterflies left over from my pink butterfly card are also Kanban. I made two male 21st's yesterday but they were taken and written before I had chance to photo them. I am going upstairs now to make a card for  Jake my grandson who will be 13 on .....oh tomorrow, must dash! keep warm and dry.

Never too old for a cupcake

Good snowy afternoon to you all. I am late today because I have been doing my ironing and my daughter's and she was late dropping it off because of the snow. We are forecast  heavy rain for the rest of the week so it will probably disappear quickly, she says confidently-ish! But at least it is bright, and I have a good excuse not to step out of the door, in fact to be honest I am still in my PJ's! So confession being good for the soul and all that, let's get down to the card:  Background Kanban stamps and Brilliance ink pad, blank topper Kanban, LOTV stamp coloured with Pro-markers and glitter glue pens, sentiments Dawn Bibby, dusting of Pan Pastels on topper. Well that's it, I must go and finish the 21st cards that are needed for tomorrow. I will just check on the birds first, Nat and Giorgia sorted the food and water for them earlier, but I do like to see them partaking of it, especially the blackbirds with the apples. Keep warm.

Pink Butterflies

Well good afternoon people, this is the third time I have tried to write this post, a few minutes ago an update message appeared and popped me off and took all my writing with it to that great blog in the atmosphere. So third time lucky. Can I say Thank you and welcome to my new follower Chris, I am pleased to have you aboard! I should have called this card UIU-3, because I have had this Kanban stamp for ages and only used it twice. It is such an easy card to make, you could easily set up a production line if you wanted to make a batch. So here goes: Kanban stamp, Versamark, pink embossing powder from stash, extra butterflies stamped on pink vellum, glue spots. Done! Just to say the snow forecast for this afternoon hasn't materialised yet, I am hoping it misses us, as I have to pick Meg up from dancing class at school at 4-30.  Keep warm.

40

Good morning all, another cloudy one, but the sun is forecast for later today, that's to warm us up before tomorrow's snow, but it is only forecast for the afternoon. It seems darker in here because my light bulbs are popping, I know they have to go sometime but mine don;t seem to last very long, I am going to take note of how long they last. What I will do with the information I'm not sure, but I think an electrician will be involved! Today's card is for my son-in-law Charlie, and yes it is the big day for him tomorrow.
I used a Splodgeaway mask to emboss, then Distress ink, not sure what colour- think it may be faded denim, I embossed extra cogs onto mirror card for embellishments and added Card Candy, I will look up the sentiment later, the wings are Kanban, I heat embossed them all with silver embossing powder from my stash, I coloured the peel offs with  a Pro-marker for the 40. Well that's it for today, I am going to visit a friend today, I think I will go just before lunch then i can call at the local bakery and treat us to pie, peas and gravy, sounds healthy- doesn't it? Keep warm.

WOYWW #190

http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/woyww-190.html

Good morning all, well that's quite a clear photo for me, all the better as I have only just realised yes it is Wednesday and leaving my porridge dashed upstairs to take it. Well I am getting more organised so I have bought another little set of drawers £5 from Asda, not bad. So what can you see? Some black Kanban toppers that I have stamped and embossed, some are black on black. I am going to be in UIU mode for the next couple of weeks so that is why they are there. Scissors and my pokey tool on one side, pink gems, peel -offs and cello bags of useful things to be UIUpped! Well that's me, I don't think I will be blog hopping until this evening as I am in school all day today. Keep warm and keep crafting.

UIU-2

Good afternoon everyone, I am late today, I had to drop my car off for it's MOT this morning, and I am now waiting fingers crossed for a phone call to say it has passed. Well it is a lovely bright sunny day today, blue sky,  lots of snow around but none falling. The birds have really bucked up with the sunshine, and there have been lots of them at the feeding station, particularly blackbirds. I put two halves of a Granny Smith apple out and they demolished it in minutes. Can I say welcome and thank you for following my blog to Patricia, that brings me up to thirteen now! I was supposed to go to a governor training session at 6pm, but I have just received an e-mail to say it has been cancelled, and as my grand-daughter is on cooking duties today, once I have picked my car up I can just play. Well today's card: Background papers Kay & Co, flower stamp Dawn Bibby, sentiment Sam Poole, brads from stash. Have a good day, keep warm.

UIU-1

Good snowy morning everyone! We have light snow during the night and it is still coming down, it was very slippy under foot yesterday so it will be treacherous today. I am just eating my porridge, we are back on healthy eating after all that chocolate and pannetone and lurpak and.........   and the scales have just been dusted off - oh my! There is a big pan of bean chilli ready for lunch and a refreshing green salad to go with it, now you can't get healthier than that can you? Can I say welcome and thank you to my two new followers, I was ecstatic yesterday when I hit double figures of ten but now I am up to twelve, whooo whooo! This is thanks to the lovely Jenny from Cardsarus who posted on her blog that I needed more followers, wasn't that so very kind of her, thanks once again Jenny.xxx  Well today's card, on Saturday I started a UIU trend for myself, I have had all the things I have used on this card for some time, I hadn't used the stamp which is a Kanban one, as is the butterfly one, so Background Kay & Co, stamps coloured with Pro-Markers, butterfly Versamark and then heat embossed with pink embossing powder from stash, sentiment Sam Poole.
Well that's it no grandchildren have returned to say they need a lift so I am off to get ready, I am going in school today. Keep warm.

Well good morning everyone and what a cold bleak one it is. The blackbirds are sat up in the trees with all their feathers fluffed out, poor things! Can I say hello and welcome to my two new followers, Carole and  Bearhouse (Sue), I really do appreciate you joining me. Can I also say thank you to those kind people who have made comments, I really appreciate them, they are very cheering. Well today's card a slight change- Background papers Kay & Co, plain topper Kanban, LOTV stamp, coloured with Pro-markers, light dusting of Pan Pastels, ribbon and sentiment from stash. Did you spot the difference? Well I am off now for a quick blog hop, before I dive in the shower and shoot off (er drive carefully) to church. Have a good day and keep warm.

Happy Birthday

I am entering this card in: http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.co.uk/ - anything to do with stitching.

Good afternoon, well a cold day all round I would say, we still haven't had much but it is very slippy underfoot and on the side roads that haven't  been gritted, but all credit to the gritter men they have put some hours in to keep all main roads and bus routes clear. I vowed yesterday that I wouldn't step foot out until this evening for a cinema trip. But when I saw how slippy it was I went out to do a bit of  grit spreading myself, on the drive and on the pavement outside, I didn't want my Asda  delivery man falling with all those green baskets! Then my son-in-law asked me to drop him off at the train station, and my grand daughter has texted for a lift home from work at 5, and the cinema trip is off as Sarah is ill. Oh well my card, this is getting very repetetive: Background Diecuts with A View, blank topper-Kanban. LOTV stamp, coloured in with Promarker, s, ribbon, brad and sentiment from my stash, green ink-Papermania, dusting of Pan Pastels.
Well do keep warm.

Shopaholic

I am entering this in: http://www.ladyanneschallenges.com/stamp-challenge.html

Good day everyone. Well the snow has hit us though not as bad as predicted yet! More light snow is forecast for this afternoon, but we will see. My grandkids were gutted this morning when there was nothing on the school website to say that it was closed, so off they trooped and the bus did turn up. The main roads are clear, the gritters have never stopped. I am sat here roasty toasty warm, I have got more layers on than an onion, but I am going out later so will need to stay layered.
Well my card: Background-Diecuts with a View, plain topper Kanban, LOTV stamp, coloured with Promarkers, embellishments from my stash, and I think the sentiment is a Dawn Bibby.

Just for you

Good morning all, another cold bleak day, will have to go and replenish the water for the birds because it will be frozen solid, but I am not dressed yet! I am having a slow morning. I have finished my ironing, I didn't lock the front door until 8-55 when I was sure that no one would be back because of failed buses etc. I then made myself my second brew and some toasted pannetone with some Lurpak, it was delicious. I have done some blog hopping and am doing this post before I go upstairs to put on lots of layers to keep warm. Snow is forecast for us today from 12pm-light snow it says but it keeps changing every time you do a check. Anyway my card: Background Diecuts with aView, blank topper Kanban, LOTV stamp, coloured with Promarkers, embellishments from my stash, as is the sentiment which I have had for ages, I have used Brilliance inks on it, and the topper is dusted with a touch of Pan Pastels.
Well folks that's it for today, I am off upstairs to get layered up! Keep warm.

WOYWW

http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

Good Wednesday morning.  Well, I had a stack of cards that I had made, but I had only completed the fronts, no verses etc inside, so I chose the verses, sentiments, stamped them inside and on that strip of labels to the right. I was called for my evening meal- it was my daughter's turn to cook, after my meal I went straight to my middle daughter's while she cut and coloured my hair, then straight to bed and Voila! There are two innovations since last week, my inks are now in that little drawer unit, and I strung some fairy lights up. I got this idea off someones desk last Wednesday, I can't remember who, but if i see you today I will come back and acknowledge it. You know who you are because I made a comment. Have a good day everyone keep warm, I am going for a quick blog hop.

Dare to dream

Good Morning all, the weather  can't make it's mind up what to do today, we are forecast sunny periods but no sign of Mr Sun yet. In fact as I have just had to do the school run again, just as I had told myself to chill my time was my own as I only had 3 small items  left to iron, when in the four of them trooped looking chilled to the bone. Anyway as I was scraping the ice off my windscreen I noticed the tiniest of snowflakes drifting down and they are still doing it, so I can't decide whether that is a cloudy sky I see or a full of snow sky-know what I mean. Anyway my card: Background Diecuts with a View with a bit of Distress ink round the edges, I can't remember what shade as I made this background before Christmas. Blank topper Kanban, LOTV stamp and sentiment, peel offs from stash. Well I am off to blog hop now, have a good day and keep warm.

Good afternoon everyone, what a lovely day it has turned out to be, says she who has just returned home from school, and who has no desire or intention to step out of the door again until tomorrow evening. When I say lovely, a lot of the snow that fell during the night and this morning just when everyone was setting out for work and school,  has cleared from near us, the main roads are clear, the sun is out and it is melting the snow on the trees fence etc. It is a lot brighter, hence that bright patch to the top of my card, that is sun shining through the window! Anyway my card: Background-Kay & Co, plain topper Kanban, LOTV stamp, colouring-Promarkers, sentiment from stash but I think it might be Crafter's Companion, Card Candy. shading on topper Pan Pastels
Well that's it for today I think, when I have finished blog hopping I think i will have to engage in a little crafty play before it's time to do the evening meal. Take care and keep warm.

Good morning everyone, its a cold crisp one today, I have just been out to replenish the bird's water as both container's were frozen solid, they are all zoomimg in for a quick feed. Today's card: Background paper Diecuts with a View, blank topper Kanban, LOTV stamp,  die cuts Spellbjnder, colouring Promarkers, wings glue pen, corners and sentiment from stash, edging on topper Pan Pastels. Well that's it, time to do a bacon butty before I get ready for church. Have a good day, keep warm.

Saturday 12 January 2013

Congratulations!

Good afternoon everyone on a bright but cold winter's day. I have been lovely and warm though as I have been ironing all morning, in between putting the Asda delivery away and feeding Josef after he got back from football. I try to iron every day to stay on top of it all at this house, but I do my middle daughter's ironing on a Saturday, so I watched the first episode of Mr Selfridge on my laptop while I did hers. Anyway today's card: Background paper from stash, I think it was  a pack I got from Create and Craft ages ago, the lacy bit on the outer edge is a stamp from Kanban that I heat embossed as is the  blank topper, stamp from LOTV- not many to go now, flowers and sentiment from stash.
I am just going to venture outside into the back garden to the compost bin and then I am going to craft away the rest of the day. Take care, keep warm.

Good afternoon everyone, what a cold Friday  it is too, I can't believe it is 3 degrees(cue song) it feels a lot colder to me, perhaps it is the mist that is making it appear colder. Well can I welcome and say thank you to  Lori my new follower who I met via  WOYWW, I am sure we will be blogging back and forth. Just after I blogged yesterday I had locked the front door after the grand kids had gone to school, eaten my two crumpets and was still sat there in my nightie drinking my coffee and blog hoppping when the front door opened and in trooped Nat, Meg and Lauren- there school bus hadn't turned up! This was at 8-40 and Nat's first exam was at 9, so it was tuck said nightie into trousers and dash out and do the drop off, thankfully traffic was not too bad and I got him there with 5 minutes to spare. Then it was home to continue hopping- well I had all those desks to visit all around the world! Then this morning Nat, Jake  and Meg had just left and I thought I will have 5 more  minutes on the laptop when in walked Lauren, she had missed the bus today so it was the school run again. Any way my card: background paper Diecuts with a View, LOTV stamp, coloured with promarkers, ribbon from my stash-I think it was tied around some Papermania cards, stars from stash. I think I will enter it in a competition that I have just read about with a frill on it, but I can't remember so I will have to backtrack and check. Keep warm everyone. x

Positively pampered

Good morning all, another dark day round here in Bolton, another lie in for the birds I think. My grandson Nat has two exams today, Psychology and Chemistry, so I will be thinking about him and all the other youngsters taking exams today. I am going in my old school this afternoon to do art/technology  with a Y3/4 class so that will keep me busy and not stressing about him to much. Once you get with the kids you don't have time to think about anything else, as long as I remember to pick Josef up from his school too I will be fine. Another LOTV stamp today. The background paper is Diecuts with a view that I have had in my stash for years, colouring- promarkers, glitter glue on shiny bits, lipstick embellishment is from a Kanban stamp, feather and jewel from stash. Well I think that's it for today, oh the wood pigeons have arrived, they are sat in a tree waiting until they are sure it is all clear for them to come to ground. Have a good day one and all.

Wednesday 9 January 2013

WOYWW

Well here it is my first attempt at WOYWW. I vowed I was going to do this no matter how dark the photo turned out. I am a bad photographer, it is on my i-phone, and my craft desk is under the loft stairs- I actually took this with a LED torch balanced on my head! Anyhow no more procrastination! Front centre 2 cards I have made using some of  my Christmas LOTV stamps. The white square is 3D foam pads, the red box contains cotton wool balls and make up sponges for chalks and Pan Pastels. Grey pro-markers with red elastic band round them. Little white tub is where I try to put the backs off 3D foam rather than just drop them on the floor as I then walk them out on to the landing and therefore have to vacuum more than i like to or want to. I don't know whether you can make it out but behind the red tub is an ice-cream tub with acrylic blocks in. There is also my lamp with some distress and other ink pads at one side of it and rolls of tape at the other. Well I think that's it. Oh yes, it is quite tidy!

Friend to friend

Morning all, a bit misty today so may be another gloomy day, or it could be a heat haze and the sun will break through! One can only hope. A quick blog before I get ready for my volunteer day in school, packed lunch is sorted  just waiting for the grand children to leave for secondary school before I lock the door and dive in the shower. Still no birds around today perhaps they are all having a lie in because of the weather. Well another LOTV today, coloured in with promarkers, glitter glue on the wings, background paper Dawn Bibby, sentiment from stash- there is a sentiment to go with this card but I mislaid it,  found it when i was clearing up! Flowers from stash they are actually more pink than red but you know me and my photography. Ready for my dive in the shower, have a good day everyone.

New arrival

Hasn't it been a dark gloomy day today, even the birds seemed to struggle to come out to the feeders. They are usually winging in as I have my breakfast, but not this morning. I took my brother for his hospital appointment at 9-30 and when I got back there were just two collared doves tucking into a fat ball, it was well into the afternoon before the finches and tits got going and there were n't many of them, mind you it had started drizzling by then.
Well I have started using my new stash, I will work my way through my LOTV stamps that I got as Christmas presents.   I used a Splodgeaway mask and pan pastels for the background, and coloured in  with promarkers. The sentiment is with the baby stamp. Well that is me done for today, I will see how Blogger is doing.

Monday 7 January 2013

Sympathy

Well, as you can see photography is not my strong point! I made this card using some Dawn Bibby vellum and embellishments I have had in my stash for some time. I printed the verse that I found on the internet. I can't believe it is so long since my last post, but in the lead up to Christmas I was so busy, then I lost my mojo! Then my laptop gave up the ghost, so I have now got a new one, I am not sure if blogger is playing up for me or if it is my security that is not allowing links. I have been playing with some of my new  'christmas' stash today but nothing is finished yet, maybe later.
